Coming to Teluk Bahang? Hungry for some durians? Why not visit us at our durian stall which is just along Jalan Teluk Bahang…

If you are coming from the Teluk Bahang dam, our durians and fruits stall is located after the Tropical Fruit Farm. If you are coming from Balik Pulau, start looking out after you see the Tropical Fruit Farm signboard (800m).. As you can see, our stall is located just beside the 400m signboard.

This year we are selling mostly local branded durians, some fruits, fresh nutmegs and our homemade nutmeg syrup with no preservatives added (must try!).

During this durian season, our durian stall is sure to be open during weekends but may not be opened everyday – depends on durian availability.

See how lovely the durian flowers look like in closeup. Since they are so bright and scentful, they attract plenty of bees and other insects which help in pollination.

Kek Lok Si temple with its grand display of lights that symbolise Peace, Luck & Prosperity receives plenty of visitors during the Chinese New Year celebration, mainly devotees. The lights which can be seen from far are usually light up after 7pm and lasts till midnight on normal days during this festive month.  This grand illumination of lights is no joke – about 230,000 light bulbs and 10,000 lanterns are lighted up every night!

It was quite late when we arrived, so we just visited the Guanyin statue section by taking one of its lift up. We might go again another day to see the Pagoda section.

The Prajna Paramita Heart Sutra Wall or 般若波罗蜜多心经

Red Lanterns can be seen hanging across the ceilings, hallways and sidewalks of Kek Lok Si.

Although just a short visit, I will always remember this fateful, beautiful and somewhat spiritual night.

Can you guess what plant this is? It’s a plant where its flowers only blooms at night… It blooms at night so that it can collect moon dust, which is not available during the day. The fruit of the plant is commonly known as Dragon Fruit or Pitaya. This particular plant is from the genus Hylocereus, which is more common in Asian countries.

OK, I made up that moon dust stuff. It might happen on Pandora though.
